Jazz Forum Talents is a group of the greatest new talents of Polish jazz, selected from among the musicians who took part in the Jazz Forum Showcase powered by Szczecin Jazz a year ago. Each of the musicians of the great seven has an established position on our stage, awards and distinctions won at the most important national competitions, high ratings, and even victories in the annual JAZZ FORUM readers' polls - individually and with their home bands (Kasia Pietrzko Trio, SKICK-SKIUK, Tomasz Chyła Quintet, Weezdob Collective, ZK Collaboration).
Kasia Pietrzko - pianist, leader of the Kasia Pietrzko Trio band. Nominated for the Fryderyk 2018 award for the Jazz Debut of the Year, laureate of the Jazz Top and "Mateusz" Trójka poll in the New Hope category. In 2018, she played in the band of master Tomasz Stańko at his last concert. He has released two original albums and dozens of foreign concerts.
Jakub Mizeracki - guitarist of the band Skicki-Skiuk, who in 2017 won the Grand Prix of the Jazz Individuality Competition at the Jazz nad Odrą festival. In 2019, Mizeracki took 3rd place in the International Competition named after Jarosław Śmietana. He played, among others with Billy Cobham and Leszek Możdżer.
Maciej Kądziela - alto saxophonist, co-leader of the ZK Collaboration band. He learned, among others in New York at Columbia University, he also took lessons from Lee Konitz and Greg Osby. He graduated from the Danish Rhythmic Music Conservatory. He collaborated, among others with Dave Young and Jerzy Małek. Currently, he teaches students of jazz art at the Academy of Music in Łódź. Co-founder of the unusual project "Virtual Big Band Cho-Jazz 50" for the 50th anniversary of jazz workshops in Chodzież.
Kacper Smoliński - harmonica virtuoso, member of the Weezdob Collective band, with whom he won the Jazz Individuality Competition at the Jazz nad Odrą festival in 2018. Scholarship holder of "Young Poland". He graduated from the Jazz-Institut Berlin. He studied with Greg Cohen. in 2019, Krzysztof Herdzin wrote for him "Concerto for Harmonica and String Orchestra", which had its premiere in Łomża.
Tomasz Chyła - one of the best Polish jazz violinists, leader of the Tomasz Chyła Quintet band, with whom he recorded three albums. Three times nominated for the Fryderyk Award. Laureate of the Jazz Juniors 2016 competition. In 2018, he played a daring concert on the jazz scene of the Pol'and'Rock festival. He has performed all over Europe and China.
Roman Chraniek - double bass player of the Skicki-Skiuk band, with whom he won the Jazz on the Oder competition for Jazz Individuality in 2017 and was a guest on the jazz scene at the Woodstock Festival. He collaborated, among others with Janusz Muniak, Leszek Możdżer, Marcus Wyatt and David Dorůžka. He has played on many stages around the world, from Iceland to Hong Kong.
Adam Zagórski - one of the most sought-after Polish jazz drummers. Co-leader of the ZK Collaboration group, member of the Weezdob Collective. He also collaborates on a permanent basis with Włodek Pawlik and Artur Dutkiewicz. Winner of many international awards. Creator of the project "Virtual Big Band Cho-Jazz 50" for the 50th anniversary of the Jazz Workshops in Chodzież.
