Lakecia Benjaminis an American jazz, funk and R&B saxophonist. She is a representative of the young New York scene. She has performed with stars such as Stevie Wonder, Alicia Keys, The Root and Macy Gray. She played in the White House for President Barack Obama in 2009. She has released three albums so far. Recording and touring with Lakecia Benjamin and Soul Squad, she became known as a musician inspired by the classic sounds of James Brown, Maceo Parker, Sly and Family Stone and the Meters. Its fourth album, which will be released at the beginning of 2020 in the USA, and whose European premiere will take place at Bielska Zadymka Jazzowa, is devoted to the music of John Coltrane - one of the most outstanding jazz creators and reformers.
