WYNTON MARSALIS
is one of the most important figures in contemporary jazz. This world-famous trumpeter and composer is also a highly respected teacher and activist for music education. He is called the ambassador of American culture and has been awarded honorary doctorates by several dozen universities. He is known for his interpretations of both jazz and classical music and is the only instrumentalist to receive Grammy Awards in one year for recordings in these two categories. Test is also the managing and artistic director of Jazz at Lincoln Center - a cultural center that carries out its mission of promoting jazz, among others, by leading its own orchestra, with which he performs all over the world.
European premiere
The song "The Democracy! Suite ”was recorded live on September 27, 2020 during the first concert that after the lockdown in New York took place at the Jazz at Lincoln Center's Appel Room. Its overtones were an artistic voice in the then presidential campaign in the USA and a kind of reflection on the state of democracy in the world. The album was released on January 15, 2021 by Blue Engine Records. The concert at this year's Zadymka will be its European premiere.

 

PIOTR WOJTASIK
is one of the most outstanding trumpet players of the Polish music scene, a true virtuoso, excellent improviser and composer. He has released 11 original albums that have gained high recognition among critics and music lovers. Piotr Wojtasik received two Fryderyk awards in 2008 - in the Jazz Musician of the Year category and as the author of the Best Jazz Record of the Year for the album "Circle". He has been a winner in the Jazz Top ranking of the Jazz Forum magazine many times.
At Zadymka, on June 25, he will present the latest project - "VOICES", created by: Piotr Wojtasik Septet & Choir of the Synagogue under the White Stork conducted by Stanisław Rybarczyk with the participation of vocalist Magdalena Zawartko. "Great compositions and arrangements. Moving vocalizations by Magdalena Zawartko, truly impressionistic solos of Wojtasik and Kaletka, all based on the inexorable autopsy machine, plus the color of the harp and the all-encompassing choir. Cosmos." - Mariusz Bogdanowicz ("Muzyk" magazine, 11-12 2020).
