The band was founded in 1998 by Wojciech Mazolewski - bass guitarist and composer. The roots of the group go back to the Gdańsk yass scene of the 1990s. Pink Freud, called an export product of Polish culture, is a phenomenon on the domestic, but above all foreign, jazz scene. The group's repertoire grows beyond the traditional definition of jazz music and is an eclectic mix of classical improvisation, electronic sound, drum'n'bass and jungle as well as punk energy. Pink Freud has performed several hundred concerts in Poland and abroad. The band has performed in Mexico, Chile, Peru, Morocco, Belgium, France, Sweden, China, Romania, the Czech Republic, Russia and Hungary, among others. In Band Leader, Wojtek Mazolewski is a charismatic stage personality who is able to establish an emotional bond with the audience in an amazing way. Pink Freud's music is a multifaceted experience - the band freely mixes classic sound with modern solutions, electronics, plays with form, going beyond rigid canons, and proposes a unique conglomerate of musical styles with its work. Pink Freud performs both at rock festivals, in philharmonics and in small music clubs. The success of the ensemble consists not only of exploring traditional and avant-garde spaces for improvisation, but also a compilation of the personalities of excellent instrumentalists. After a few years' break, the band returns with a new album "net piano forte gross". As usual, it is a completely new opening and a change of sound, and at the same time the essence of what Pink Freud has got us used to. The album will be released in autumn 2020 by Mystic Production. Wojtek Mazolewski on the new album: “Everything changes, but the source of our passion and joy of playing still beats with pure energy. We have been preparing this album for a long time and we have devoted a lot of time to it to fully reflect our passions, experiences and adventures that we were lucky to experience together. The pieces were created during and immediately after concert tours, when impressions and emotions flowed back home. We worked on the material during special away sessions from the Bieszczady Mountains to the Casa De Musica music center in Porto, Portugal. During these group camps, cut off from the world and everyday life, we devoted ourselves to music 100%. This time we took everything into our own hands. We recorded and produced this material ourselves and for the first time I have the feeling that it sounds as it should and has power. The beginnings of this process can be dated to 2016, thanks to which it is a complete, up-to-date musical picture of the band. "
