STATUTE

1. The Competition is organized by the Art Theater Association in Bielsko-Biała in cooperation with the Polish Radio Katowice SA and the editorial office of the Jazz Forum monthly.

2. The aim of the Competition is to promote new jazz music projects.

3. The competition has an open formula with no age limit of the performers.

4. The course of the Competition is two-stage and consists of: elimination to the Competition and the Final of the Competition leading to the selection of the Grand Prize winner.

5. The deadline for accepting applications for the Competition is May 20, 2022.

6. Application for the Competition is based on: a completed application form for the competition (competition-entry-card) and musical material in the form of recording any three jazz songs with a total time not exceeding 30 minutes: on a medium in the form of a CD or pen-drive. The organizer allows the possibility of sending the music material in the form of an audio file via the WeTransfer channel in the .wave or .flac format (or in the .mp3 format with a minimum sampling of 320) to the e-mail address: kontakt@zadymka.pl. Submission of the musical material in this form must be preceded by sending a completed and signed application form to the above e-mail address of the scan, which also includes a unique designation of the sent audio files (titles).

7. The application together with the music material (on a CD or pendrive) should be sent to the following address: Stowarzyszenie Sztuka Teatr, 43-300 Bielsko-Biała, ul. Mostowa 5; with a note: Bielska Zadymka Jazzowa - Competition; and in the form of an audio file via the WeTransfer channel - to the e-mail address: kontakt@zadymka.pl. The date of notification is the date of delivery by post or the date of placing the email sent on the Organiser's server.

8. The composition of the list of performers in the registered music material is obligatory.

9. On the basis of the applications sent in time, the Qualifying Committee will select the finalists, who will be notified about the selection by the Organizer by June 5, 2022.

10. The performers qualified for the finals of the Competition will present their programs in the Concert Studio of Polish Radio Katowice on June 20, 2022. The organizer stipulates that each of the finalists should prepare material with the time needed to fill the CD (at least 45 minutes). The presented programs will be registered, and the recorded material will be given to the finalists with the right to use. 11. Winners of the Final of the Competition, the Organizer gives the right to final approval of the recorded material by July 10, 2022. Acceptance of the material requires sending a statement by e-mail to the following address: cookie@radio.katowice.pl. Failure to meet the above deadline will entitle the Organizer to start the production of the recording covering the previously recorded material.

12. The Organizer guarantees the participants of the final concerts accommodation and meals, without reimbursement of travel costs; as well as technical and acoustic service. 13. The final performances will be judged by a specially appointed Jury, who will select the winner of the Grand Prize from among the finalists.

14. The main prize in the Competition is: - artistic prize of the Sztuka Teatr Association - statuette of the "Jazz Angel 2022"; - participation in the 25th edition of the LOTOS Jazz Festival - Bielska Zadymka Jazzowa in 2023 (date to be determined); - recording of material for the album during the final concert of the Competition in the studio of Radio Katowice; - release of 1,500 copies of an album from the recording of the concert in the studio of Radio Katowice; - promotion of the album on Jazz Forum and Radio Katowice; - distribution of 1,200 copies of the album via the Jazz Forum; - putting 250 pieces of the album at the disposal of the band (50 pieces will be used to promote the Festival).

15. The Organizer allows the possibility of granting additional prizes funded by the sponsors of the Festival.

16. The performances of the finalists and the winner of the Main Prize as part of the Festival and the recorded concert in Radio Katowice are free of charge. The final interpretation of the Regulations is the responsibility of the Competition Organizer, and the persons authorized to submit declarations of will regarding the interpretation of the Regulations and settling disputes submitted in writing that may arise during the Competition are: Jerzy Batycki - President of the Art Theater Association and Festival Director (batycki@zadymka.pl ) and Andrzej M. Herman - member of the Festival Program Council (lawjazz@zadymka.pl).

from the course of the first stage of the Competition
"LOTOS Jazz Festival of the 24th Bielska Zadymka Jazzowa"

18 applications were submitted to the organizers by May 20, as required by the Regulations.

From among the applications submitted by the deadline, the Qualifying Committee composed of: Michał Urbaniak - chairman,  Grzegorz Zmuda (Radio Katowice) and Andrzej Herman (Stowarzyszenie Sztuka Teatr) will select the finalists, who will be notified by the Organizer about the selection by the Organizer on June 5, 2022

The performers qualified for the finals of the Competition will present their programs in the Concert Studio of Polish Radio Katowice on June 20, 2022. The organizer stipulates that each of the finalists should prepare material with the time needed to fill the CD (at least 45 minutes). The presented programs will be registered, and the recorded material will be given to the finalists with the right to use.

The winner of the Grand Prize will have Studio at his disposal for extra-time on June 21, 2022.

FINAL OF THE COMPETITION

According to the Regulations, after hearing the recordings of 18 teams admitted to the first stage of the Competition, the Qualifying Committee composed of: Michał Urbaniak (chairman), Andrzej M. Herman and Grzegorz Zmuda decided to qualify three teams to the Final (alphabetical order):

-Brzeziński Quartet

-Horntet

-Unleashed Cooperation

The final will take place on June 20 in the concert hall of the Polish Radio in Katowice.
